My best friend, Maureen Aitken, a gifted novelist, and I have adapted Maureen's short story, "Squeak," into a screenplay. Squeak has been officially selected in four film festivals including: Oregon Short Film Festival, Reno Comedy Film Festival, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, and Best Script Awards. Squeak was a finalist at the Oregon Short Film Festival and won the Best Dark Comedy Award at the Reno Comedy Film Festival.
"Squeak" is among a collection of connected short stories in Aitken's published book, The Patron Saint of Lost Girls. Her book is among Kirkus Top 2019 Indie Books and it is a gorgeous read. I'm so proud to be working with Maureen because I'm not only a fan but her best friend. I have had the privilege of knowing, admiring, loving and annoying her since we were both two or three years old.
